Ministry of the Economy and Industry has approved the Nistec plant for the installation of advanced technologies in manufacturing (Industry 4.0) at an investment of NIS 5 million

The Nistec electronics plant in Petah Tikva has received approval for its plan to install advanced technologies in manufacturing at an investment of NIS 5 million. The plan was first submitted for investments, following work with the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing, which jointly with Nistec drew up a road map to improve productivity through the installation of advanced technologies.

The plan was first approved by the Investment Authority, which will help the company boost the plant’s productivity by 10% a year over four years by investment in machinery, information systems, and the installation of automation and robotics on the production lines. Under the plan, the Ministry of the Economy and Industry will transfer to the plan a special grant amounting to 20% of the company’s planned investment in the program.

Nistec is one of the first enterprises in Israel to obtain approval for submission of an investment plan under this program, with the support of the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing. The institute, recently established by the Director of Industries at the Ministry of the Economy and Industry in March 2020, seeks to boost manufacturing productivity through the installation of advanced technologies.

Nistec’s plan, approved by the Investment Authority, is the result of a diagnosis performed by external 4.0 manufacturing consultants for the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at the company’s electronics plant in Petah Tikva. The process included an in-depth review of the plant’s full value chain and digital processes. At the completion of the diagnosis, a road map was drawn up, which served as the basis of a work plan to improve the plant’s productivity.

Benny Amoyal, the CEO of the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing: “Nistec is one of the first plants that has adopted the road map. As more plants adopt the road map to improve productivity and march toward Industry 4.0, they will improve their real-time decision-making capability and their ability to meet the demands of the changing market. I hope that plants that adopt this path will also become a focus for the next generation to show an interest in and the challenge of implementing and installing advanced technologies.”

“Implementation of the plan at the plant will help us streamline many manufacturing process as well as the material flow, thereby shortening delivery times, further improve quality, and provide customers with a good, fast, and flexible service experience that meets their needs,” said Nistec VP sales and marketing Arbel Nissan. “I wish to thank the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing, the Director of Industries at the Ministry of the Economy and Industry, and the Investment Authority for advancing this important matter, which will help Israeli industry progress in competing with foreign manufacturers.”
