Nistec’s new electronics plant on the Golan Heights opens its doors

Nistec has completed of its new electronics plant in Katzrin, which will engage about 250 employees from the Golan and the region. The 8,000-sq.m. plant, built over the past two years, at an investment of NIS 45 million. Nistec Group owner and CEO Yitzhak Nissan says, “The building will serve both all the operations of the Nistec Golan plant and the northern branch of Nistec Division, and will be a source of pride for the hundreds of residents from the Golan and the environs who will work there. This is the first sign of the vision of Israel’s Silicon Heights, which will be built on the Golan Heights.

The plant, which is the largest single investment ever on the Golan, includes a laboratories floor for startups, which will receive on-site services for the rapid development and production of new products, from the circuit design stage through production.

A unique visitors center for the Israeli high-tech industry was built on the building’s gallery floor, which will be open to the general public. At the center, visitors to the Golan, adults and children, will be exposed to the high-tech experience, the development and production processes of electronic products from the concept stage through the completion of the finished product, and will view up close the production processes of high-tech products at the plant.

Today, Nistec is the largest employer on the Golan, with about 150 employees from the Golan and region at its plant. The company intends to increase the number of employees at the new plant to about 250 within three years.

“The new plant, which Nistec has built, is cornerstone for residents of Katzrin and its environs,” says Katzrin Regional Council head Dmitri Afratzev. “We strongly appreciate Nistec’s investment in developing and promotion the area. This courageous and pioneering investment will attach other high-tech companies, which will want to benefit from the quality of the workers and perfect lifestyle that the Golan has to offer.”
